Sleeping Angels

I wanted to share a few more diaper cakes I have created over the years. I hope you enjoy them πŸ™‚

Baby By My Side

This diaper cake was quite difficult to make, but turned out beautifully! To create the bassinet, I took a cardboard box and lined it with rolled up diapers, securing them with a rubber band. I tucked a blanket around the bottom of the box, into the rubber band, so that the blanket looked like the outside of the basinet.

I then took a box, and lined it with rolled up diapers, securing them with a rubber band. I took this box, and placed it on top of the other one vertically, so that it was the top of the bassinet. I tucked a blanket around as I had previously, to look like the outside of the bassinet hood.

I took a blanket and tucked it inside the bassinet, as this hid the inside of the top box and made it look nice πŸ™‚

I took a baby’s outfit and stuffed it with diapers, creating a diaper “baby”, and placing it in the “bassinet,” covering it with a blanket.

I wanted the baby to look like it was sleeping, so I placed the sleeve of the outfit under the hat, and a pacifier in it’s mouth.

To finish it off, I added a ribbon.

If only all babies slept so peacefully πŸ™‚

Baby’s First Crib

Stories of Petey - Sleeping Angels - Diaper Crib

This crib may not be secure it enough to hold a real baby, but boy is it adorable πŸ™‚

To create this crib, I took a box, and lined it with rolled up diapers, securing them with rubber bands. I did not want the rubber band to show, so I covered them with ribbon.

I covered some chipboard with a blanket, and placed it at the front and back of the box, to look like the ends of a crib.

To create the bars, I rolled up diapers, and taped them together. This was not very secure, but the diapers helped support one another, so that it would not fall.

I filled the inside of the “crib” with blankets, and a few rolled up diaper “bottles.”

Baby’s Toy Box Friends

Stories of Petey - Sleeping Angels - Toy Box

When the baby is not sleeping, they need food, snuggles, and of course, toys! A friend of mine had a Toy Story baby shower, so I put this together as a gift πŸ™‚

For this one, instead of lining a box with rolled up diapers, I lined a box and its lid with flat diapers using tape. I did not want a rubber band to show. Had I done it now, I would have fancied it up with a ribbon, but, oh well πŸ™‚

I did use rolled up diapers, secured with tape, to hold up the lid, so that all could see the toys sneaking out of the toy box.

The final touch was filling the toybox with a blanket, and placing toys and books within. I wanted Woody and Buzz to look like they were sneaking out to welcome the baby home.
